Mon travail photographique a toujours privilégié deux thèmes : le
patrimoine culturel (architecture, artisanat d’art, archéologie,
bibliothèques, etc.) et le patrimoine naturel sous l’angle des
relations entre l’homme et la nature (vallée de la Seine, Muséum de
Paris, conservation de la nature, incendies de forêt, etc.).
Partenaire du
Conservatoire des jardins et paysages,
je me consacre essentiellement depuis 2000 à un projet qui se trouve
à la croisée de ces chemins : l'Art des jardins du monde,
thème sur lequel j’ai réalisé l’une des plus vastes collections
photographiques constituées par un seul photographe. La presse
française et internationale ont réservé un accueil enthousiaste à
Jardins du Monde
(2004)
et
Deux mille ans de jardins
(2006). Ce dernier ouvrage s'est vu décerné le prestigieux Prix Redouté de la photographie artistique du livre de
jardin (2007). Mon dernier ouvrage
Dans les jardins du monde, 80
lieux d'exception (2009) a la particularité de recourir
exclusivement à des photos panoramiques, et son format rectangulaire
permet au lecteur de véritablement "entrer" dans les jardins. |

My photographic work has always been focused on two themes : cultural
heritage (architecture, art craft, archeology, libraries, among others)
and natural heritage in the sense of the relationships between mankind
and nature (the Seine valley, Paris Museum, wildlife preservation,
forest fires, among others.
Since 2000, I mainly devote myself to a project which is at the
crossroad of these themes : the Art of the gardens of the world. I
have
built one of the most
extensive collection of images of gardens ever made by a single
photographer. International and French press enthousiastically
welcomed my two books
The most
beautiful gardens in the world and
Gardens in
time. I have been very proud to see the latter being awarded
with the French prestigious Prix Redouté for
artistic photography of books on gardens. My work was also featured
in the exhibition
In Search of Paradise : Great Gardens of the
World at the Chicago Botanic Garden. My last work
Dans les jardins du monde, 80 lieux
d'exception is made of 110 panoramic images
with forewords by the world known garden designer and author Beth
Chatto. The book is in French but you can read
